Here's Madison, posing in front of the building at Brenau, just before her third ballet class. She likes this kitty - she goes by to pet it each day. Yes, she knows it's a BIG kitty. Like a cougar or something. But she still wants to pet it and say, "Nice kitty!"
Back to work for Daddy today. Books-a-million was supposed to have a free Superman comic this morning, so he and Madison went by there to pick one up (remember, freebies?). But Books-a-million blew it. They got three comics there locally, and gave them away yesterday. This information was presented to me by a manager, at which point I was thinking about what a wasted trip it was. And that pretty much sums up Books-a-million lately.
At least the rest of the day went well - Daddy got a lot done at work, and Madison got to go to KidPak Jr. tonight, which is great of course. She can go all summer long, mainly because we can sleep in each morning.
And boy, do we! Each morning, we sleep until about 8:00 am or 8:30, which is glorious! Madison crawls into bed with us early, and the three of us snooze until the alarm goes off. Yes, we still have to set the alarm just in case. And yes, we were still sleeping when it goes off at 8:30!
Let's talk about temperature a moment. Today was ridonculous! It was so amazingly hot out there today that we were all completely caught off guard. We've been so blessed with pleasant weather lately that an actual hot summer day snuck up on us. We all ran and hid inside, staying safely within our air conditioned rooms, hoping for a rainstorm to cool things off. It didn't happen today, but tomorrow looks interesting. It also looks dangerous for some people in our country - there's something called a derecho coming.
I've never heard of a derecho. It sounds like a luchador, doesn't it?
According to the internet, a derecho is a widespread, long-lived, straight-line windstorm that is associated with a fast-moving band of severe thunderstorms. It's going to be hitting north of here, but the thinking is that we'll feel a bit of the wind down here as well tomorrow, and maybe some more storms in the afternoon. Tune in tomorrow and we'll see...
