Time for a Fire

Here it is, our first fire of the season. Daddy went out and got the wood, felling a tree in the back yard. Okay, not really. He went to Wal-Mart and got some of that wood fire starter, just to set up some atmosphere in the great room. Madison was drawn to it immediately. It is only slightly chilly outside at the moment, and yet she still went to the fireplace, extending her hands to warm them, and then sitting quietly as you see her above, pensively staring into the fire.

Nearly a year later, we're quite blissful in our new digs. That's our "house" for those of you that don't know what "digs" means. We've got a front porch, which is what we've always wanted - and we also have a bigger tub. And... a nice fireplace.

Today was spent doing some catching up - piano practice and speech practice (we're still working on the letter "p"). Also, we did some crafts related to the season - and did some work out on the back deck. Now there's a project that's taking forever. It's just that we have to fill in a lot of holes with wood filler, and also peel off the paint that is still there. THEN, we can finish painting. It's been an ongoing battle. Today's weather was nice outside initially, but soon the sun was getting Mommy a little flush. We'll keep waging our back deck campaign until it's done though. Must finish this month, by gum!

We picked up some tickets for another performance at the Atlanta Center for Puppetry Arts, their annual "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" show, which looks great. We're going the day after Thanksgiving. The puppet thing was a lot of fun for Madison.

The calendar is already filling up! October, for example, is loaded with stuff already. You'll read about it all here, but it's amazing all the stuff there is to do. It should be a great season, and a wonderful time to be with Madison.
