Land of Cotton

Here's the latest Sunday school craft by Madison - she enjoys doing crafts a lot, and we like posting them too! This one we'll call "Mr. Cotton," named after the famous pirate. It only seems appropriate. As Mr. Cotton would say... well, he doesn't say much, so we'll just leave it at that.

Changing the subject: finally, today we see rain! Yes, Lee is here. That's the name of the tropical storm that snuck up the gulf while everyone was paying attention to Irene. Lee wasn't as strong, obviously. But Lee was wet. And fortunately, we were slightly in Lee's path. It wasn't direct, but it was enough to give us a good soaking and cool things down a bit. We're feeling very blessed right now, because this was one very hot and very dry summer.

Today was a pretty epic day, as we've been up at all hours preparing the set and service for this new series that started today, all about Superheroes. The end result was an incredible morning, and an immediate crash on the couch at home afterwards. Boy, were we zonked! It was the kind of afternoon that you wanted to grab a cotton pillow (sensing a theme here) and take a long, long nap.

But alas, Madison has been rip-roarin' and ready to go, filled with all sorts of energy. So what do you do with that? We played video games, of course! I think we had a total of ten hours of sleep the last three nights, so it was difficult even staying awake for a bit there, but Daddy managed: the Killer Moth was back, and he's a villain you don't cotton to!

"Mr. Cotton. Do you have the courage and fortitude to follow orders and stay true in the face of danger and almost certain death?"
- Jack Sparrow
