Madison spent the day with Mommy and Daddy at home, not doing entirely too much, actually. It was Labor Day, which like most Mondays is a day Daddy has off. The difference between this day and the past few weeks' worth is this: rain. It rained today, sometimes in torrents, and the rest of the time steady and cool and obviously overcast. It felt so nice out there, especially after this long, hot summer. Madison is seen here in this image trying on Mommy's reading glasses - doesn't she look educated? She likes to try things on a lot, so be careful leaving anything on countertops or tables at our house. She's bound to be wearing them soon. Speaking of "wearing," you can see she's still got the Joe's Crab Shack shirt on. That goes back a long ways, doesn't it? Amazingly, the thing still fits. She's been growing up, our little girl.
Just today, she told me that she "wasn't talking to me." Obviously, this was troubling. And then she said, "I'm just kidding!"
She must have learned that in school - couldn't have been me! Clearly, she's developing a sense of humor as well. By the way, seventy days until Disney. We made a few more reservations today for restaurants, including the Whispering Canyon restaurant and Hollywood & Vine. We're also going to Cinderella's Castle for a big occasion with Cinderella - it looks like it will be a marvelous vacation!
But today is a nice vacation too. We'll basically do nothing today, but get rest and look out the window at the rain. Another day to not paint the deck though - we got started on this, but the rain has put a damper on things for sure. Still, it is more than welcome!
