Today was an epic day in Madison's speech. Daddy was seriously at a point of tears over such a simple thing: the letter k.
Earlier today, Madison attended speech therapy at her school, and made significant progress. Mommy and Daddy were stunned at how easily she added a "k" to the end of words like "book" and "drink." The gimmick is doing a certain hand motion on the side of your face to signify the "k," obviously after you've said the first part of the word. Previously, when Madison has wanted to say, "book," we've heard: "buh!" But now, we hear "Buh" and "k" together.
It's sort of like that old Electric Company skit they used to do. Remember those two silhouettes that would each say a different part of the word, and then say it together?
Yeah, it was just like that!
School has been great for Madison - she's enjoyed it every day. To the left is a collage she made, using all sorts of shapes stuck on to the pink surface of a larger sheet of paper. She especially enjoys doing this as of late, very intently working and concentrating on all the details of the image. Here's another image that she was working on - it was on a big piece of green paper, where she took all sorts of different materials and attached them to the paper with glue. Take a look!
