THE SHREK CHIA CAM
2/9/11
2.9.11: Hey now. You're an all-star. Above, you can see the sequence of photos where we had taken nearly every day a picture of the Chia Shrek - and made it into a slide show movie. Over time, you can see the growth as each day Madison helped us snap a photo to add to the Shrek Photo log. Every day we'd see it grow a little more, sometimes Madison being the first to spot it in the morning. She'd drag us to Shrek, and we'd see just a little more green than the day before. Shrek now will retire to a place on our shelves until his hair gets brownish, at which point he'll probably be moved to an assisted living chia pet retirement center. We actually started this project on January 12th, less than a month ago, and it really didn't take long to sprout. I think Madison learned a bit, and Mommy and Daddy did too. Madison learned words like "growing" and "leaves," and the concepts of watering and sunlight for growth. She also learned about routines, about watering every day for example. Daddy learned that this was a fun thing to do with Madison. And what did Mommy learn? This morning, Mommy learned not to pick Shrek's nose (because the sprouts fall out!).
