Super Sunday

Today was epic, and that might not be an exaggeration on the way we feel at the end of the day. It's just been a long tall weekend, but everything turned out fantastic with our premiere service this morning. We had about ten actors to dress, lots of choreographing and lines to learn - and lots of fun. The kids loved the entire service, from videos to skits to the message about "being a gladiator" for God. In this picture, you can see some of the Roman soldiers, the Emperor, the Empress and a few of the heralds as well. They actually blow trumpets, much to the annoyance of the Emperor. The soldiers each have unique personalities that are hilarious, and the performances were top notch. This was a special morning for the kids - Daddy has been really enthused about this series, and it was in no means a let down.

Here's a picture of Daddy in his very unique costume - he's the bust on top of the pedestal by the Little Caesar's pizza shop. Also pictured are two slaves Marilyn and Lancius, who our story centers around somewhat. It's a good story, a good series of messages, and a lot of great videos. It was a lot of work, but everything turned out great - and the set looks fantastic, doesn't it? We were pretty tired when it was all over with, but our day wasn't over yet. We were off to Ye-Ye and Nana's house next because it was time to celebrate Chinese New Year: The Year of the Rabbit.
We got a metric ton of Chinese food, and met Aunt Shain, Hannah, David, Jonathan and Great Grandma at Ye-Ye and Nana's house. Mommy made the delicious cupcakes that she creates each year, we popped in some Chinese music, and even watched a bit of Kung Fu Panda's "Furious Five" with the kids. The food was good as usual, and so was the company. Ye-Ye and Nana had the house decorated very nicely, and together we had a pleasant afternoon celebrating the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit. Madison even had red envelopes to pass out for everyone, each filled with chocolate coins and crafts to celebrate the New Year. Some time later, we'll meet up with other families with children from China and have a larger scale celebration. But this one was still very nice.

Arriving back to to the house, Mommy and Daddy were quite tired. We decided to let Madison watch for the first time, "Sleeping Beauty." That's a movie we weren't letting her watch just before bedtime - but it was good to watch this afternoon. Finally, she got to see Princess Aurora, and Daddy's favorite Disney movie. The scenery in this movie is fantastic, each backdrop is a work of art. And, of course the characters are great - Maleficent is the queen of all Disney Villains!

Madison watched the movie very carefully. She loved it, which was great to see. And as she was watching, Mommy and Daddy were wanting to do their best impression of "Sleeping Beauty." Not sure if we could even stay awake for the Super Bowl! It'll be an early night tonight, after a big day like today. But tomorrow we'll have another fun adventure and we'll start all over again.
