What did we do on 1-11-11? Here's a photo of Mommy and Madison with Señor Snowman, our new visitor in the front yard. We couldn't do a Parson Brown, but we got the idea from someone else to try a sombrero instead, and voila! We've got a hombre de nieve in our front yard!
Today the schools were again closed, as were most of the government offices. The DOT was wanting everyone to stay off the roads, and we thought it would be best to keep at the house. Many were complaining about being stuck in the house, but not us. It was beautiful outside, and it was beautiful inside because we have such a wonderful family.
It isn't a chore being in the house, especially this new one. For one, there's a lot to do when it comes to straightening up and moving things about. We've got plenty of books, which we've been reading with Madison. Which leads us to:
MADISON'S BOOK CLUB
Madison wanted this one read first: it's called "George Shrinks." Madison enjoys the artwork in it, and for that matter, so does Daddy. The artist's name is William Joyce - who is also the author. We enjoy his work very, very much, not only in this particular book, but in others like "Santa Calls," "A Day With Wilbur Robinson," "Dinosaur Bob and His Adventures with the Family Lazardo," and of course "Rolie Polie Olie." This is one series of books that moms and dads can enjoy too - the artwork is fantastic and very creative. If you want to see his artwork fully animated, check out "Meet the Robinsons," or even the movie "Robots." Madison likes these quite a bit too, but enjoys the books just as much. This morning, Daddy was reading several books to her on the big couch as we looked out the window at all the snow. We took our time reading, but that's all right: we were in no hurry to get anywhere today. So what did we do on 1-11-11? The answer is simple: it was another wonderful snow day!
