Cheshire Cat

On the way home tonight, Madison saw the moon - which looked like this above. "It's the Cheshire Cat," she announced, pointing it to all of us! She still has Alice in the bed with her at night time, and still likes to watch the movie. It was about a year ago that we were "researching," and watching several different versions of the story - and of course, putting together all sorts of costumes for our "Wonderland" series.

Today we were at the Mall of Georgia to go to the Disney Store in order to pick up a Belle dress, because in just one week we'll be seeing "Beauty and the Beast" at the Fox Theater. It was a few years ago - before we met Madison - that we saw this production. All sorts of little girls were there, and they were all dressed up like Belle. So many yellow evening gowns on tiny girls, and it just got us all dreamy-eyed: we were thinking only of someday returning with our own little girl, and she too all dressed up like Belle.

We found the dress on sale, and Madison beamed when she saw it. We've got it packed away tonight so she can make her grand entrance to the theater in just one week...

Today was somewhat of a cleanup day. Yes, we still spent time getting the Christmas stuff downstairs and packed away. We also took a break late in order to go get the gown, and go do a few errands as well. While out, we decided to go to PF Chang's, which was an inspired choice. The three of us had a wonderful meal, far between peak hours. Madison has been eating very well lately, and there at the restaurant matters were no different. It should come as no surprise that when dessert came, she gobbled down a very large portion of ice cream. But don't worry: she ate all her dinner too.

While cleaning up a bit, we had "Big Bird goes to China" playing on the television, which sort of went with a theme of the day. Later on tonight, we saw "Kung Fu Panda" again. There's that song again: "Panda Po." Madison recognizes it, and has claimed it as her own. So many happy memories spring up with this movie. We'll be watching a few more movies with a Chinese theme as this month rolls by: the Chinese New Year is on the way. We'll do more than just watch movies, of course. But it was nice on a chilly night to snuggle together and watch a really good flick.

Meanwhile, the Cheshire Cat looks down upon us as we get ready for night-night...
