1-1-11

Today we continued our grand tradition of starting out the New Year with a visit to Ye-Ye and Nana's to watch the Tournament of Roses Parade. I heard some commentary about entrants "cutting back" on the dragon-themed floats this year, but you can't tell China Airlines to do that - as you can see in this float pictured here! There was yet another dragon-themed float later on in the parade, which just goes to show how evidently easy it is to make a dragon float! It's a great parade, filled with parade floats with awesome themes, each float completely covered with flowers. There were some neat ones this year, but nothing can beat that one year in which there were a few "Star Wars" floats, as well as a featured appearance by the world-famous 501st legion.

Just imagine all those stormtroopers marching down Colorado Boulevard, a place regularly reserved for flowers and pageantry. That year, the Empire struck back and did their Imperial march along the parade route. As a big "Star Wars" fan, it was fun to watch!

It was a very pleasant morning. Ye-Ye and Nana served us crumpets and coffee cake, while Madison drags out some of her Christmas toys that she loves to play with.

Here she is, playing with Ye-Ye and her "counting cookies," a toy cookie jar with cookies that help you count. As a nice surprise, Madison's cousins were at the house as well - so we had a big family gathering for New Year's Day. Nana had great food, and we had a great time!

The date is 1-1-11, but in about ten days we'll have an extra 1 to work with!

It was a big work day for Daddy and Mommy a little later on, as we - along with Madison - continued working on our new spy-themed set, getting ready for the big series kick-off tomorrow.
