Sabbath

The day after.  It's been a relaxing and quiet day, one where we really just took it easy.  Well, sort of.  Maddie had a dentist appointment this morning, the reason being that she can only go to the dentist on her weekdays off, which is spring break, which is now.  We were over there this morning, and Maddie got the bad news that there were two cavities, and the need to schedule a filling.  After pouring over the schedule and time off and this and that, suddenly an opening in the schedule appeared... for later in the morning!  So we had to fill some time, so that later the dentist could fill some teeth.

Anyway, Maddie and I went over to Farmhouse Coffee, a great coffee place on the square, one of at least five on the square that I know of.  Future generations may ponder why there were five coffee shops on the square, and more in the surrounding area, and why so our dependence on coffee.  But for now, it was just a pleasant morning at a really nice location.  This coffee shop has been super generous with us, and in fact one of the disciples at the Last Supper table is very closely related to the folks that run this coffee shop.  Maddie's been wanting to go for some time, so this made for the perfect occasion together.  It was nice, and we weren't in a hurry or anything, which made it even better.

So we were taking down Easter eggs today and Hoppy Hollow is officially packed away for another year.  We were playing some games, and just chilling to be honest.  It was a quiet day.  Tonight we closed the day out with part two of our Wonka-fest, a viewing of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."

I keep forgetting how truly bonkers Willy Wonka is in this movie.  It's hysterical!  These are great movies, and what a great character.  Of course we were eating from our Easter baskets today, both chocolate and jelly beans.  Yummy!

Tonight we read "From a Certain Point of View," and we said our prayers afterwards.  It was a good day, a quiet, restful day.  Except the cavity part.
