Marine Science Center Summer Camp - Day 4

Apparently, this miracle happens every day.  It's a beautiful show in the sky each morning here along the Eastern coast of Florida, and Daddy has been up to see each sunrise - somewhere between 6:30 and 7:00 am each morning.

The temperature is perfect, the lighting is there and all kinds of birds on patrol, and even a few dolphins too.  We saw some of those this week, hanging by the shoreline early, looking for some breakfast.

Of course, we're also up early to get Madison to the Marine Science Center for her fourth day of the Summer Camp.  She had to be there about a half-hour earlier this morning, because all the kids were going to Blue Springs State Park!

You can see them on their canoes again, rowing to their destination.  Madison is getting more proficient with her canoe, and perhaps would like to try it again once we get back home.  For now, this was a lot of fun for her.  She's quite proud of how quick the girls are!

But eventually, they made it to their destination, and here's where they were ready to jump into the springs.  All the kids got some instructions, and got some floatation devices, and were ready to launch out into the water.

Madison knew it would be cold.  She remembered from last year.  Of course, with springs the temperature is the same year-round.  So it seems warmer in the winter, and colder in the summer.  But today, the temperatures outside were so hot, they were fine with jumping in - it didn't take too long to get into the water.  In fact, you can see here they were loving it!

So the water is so clear and so blue, you can see the bottom, and it's great for snorkeling in, looking downward at the bottom of the springs.  Occasionally, you see various fish - Madison and a few others spotted a few Florida gar nearby.

You can see Madison swimming along here at her own pace, just enjoying the lazy day at the springs.  She had a great day here, cooling off in the water on a pretty hot day.  And yes, the temperature was very warm - no rain or even threat of rain this week.  It's been great weather to go out and do things in.

Here's Madison once more in a photo taken from the shoreline.  A trail followed the path of the springs that the kids swam down.  Madison loves swimming and is always quick to say yes for a trip to the pool.  Although tonight... she was ready to rest.  She got home tonight, and said her legs were pretty sore from all the work this week!  That's okay, Madison!

They got in their canoes, and rowed their way back again, and got to the Marine Science Center a little later, but that's okay.  Mommy and Daddy were in the gift shop, in the air conditioning, waiting with some of the other parents.  Nobody was in any hurry, as long as the kids were having a good time!

It was a good day for her.  Mommy, Nana and Ba-Ba have been having fun doing a bit of shopping this week too.  We walked along the beach once more today, and just enjoyed the atmosphere of Daytona Beach Shores.  Although a little on the warm side, it was a very nice day today.
