Hospital Visit

We visited a friend at the hospital today, and stayed a pretty good while there, waiting out a surgery that turned out just fine.  It was routine, but Madison had a great opportunity to hang out with some friends, also waiting, and it was a nice little occasion together.  She had just come from art camp - Daddy picked her up, and not far down the road is the hospital.  Mommy was there waiting as well, so we joined them there in the waiting area at the North Tower.

Madison's day at art camp went well.  She's doing and trying new things, melting crayons and using shaving cream and paint.  She's drawing animals like deer and of course dolphins.

Speaking of wildlife, we helped that stubborn turtle again this morning.  Madison and Daddy stopped the car as we pulled out of our driveway, and sure enough, there was that turtle who was trying to cross the street.  We have these curbs, like most neighborhoods, and the turtle couldn't climb them.  So he was wandering back and forth, feeling around for a possible way to get back up and into the yard, and then into the woods.  Daddy and Madison walked over, and then Daddy picked the turtle up carefully, and placed it in the yard, out of the street.  The day was saved.

We stop for turtles in these cases.  It was fairly obvious what the turtle wanted, and seemed to need a little help doing so.

Anyway, with the three of us there at the hospital, we decided to grab a bite to eat at Texas Roadhouse again, which it seems we eat at a lot.  But please note that there are very few places Mommy feels safe eating at with her diet.  We've been burned at PF Chang's, and Chili's just changed their menu to be less helpful, and the rest of the places in town are just not as gluten friendly as we'd like.  So Texas Roadhouse it is, and besides, we enjoy the food.

We got home, and it was a good time to relax a bit, so we did just that.  Although there was a bit of edge trimming and weeding to do, we also listened as Madison practiced her piano.  She's continuing her speech exercises as well.  Can you believe the summer is winding down already?

It was another visit to the Vile Village tonight, followed by prayers and zerberts.  It was an early night tonight, as we're going back to art camp first thing tomorrow.  Madison is really looking forward to it!

One more note, and completely unnoticed, really:  today is the ninth anniversary of this blog.  Somehow I've managed to keep it going just about every day for nine years straight.  Really, there's at least one entry for each day of Madison's life for the past nine years straight, as of today.  That'll be an impressive mark next year at ten years, but even now, nine years is amazing to think about, how much has gone by, how much has happened, and how wonderful it all has been.  I don't know how much longer it will go on - maybe another nine years?  I don't know - it's been good though.  Really, really good!
