There's this hurricane off the coast that nobody can pronounce, one named Joaquin. I think it is pronounced, "wah-keen." Who in their right mind would name a hurricane Joaquin? And who would pronounce Joaquin that way. Yes, I know: people from other countries. If your name is this, I apologize on behalf of the 50% of the population that has no idea how to pronounce your name.
Anyway, the hurricane is out there somewhere - and we're getting the rain. It was raining a lot before, but now it is seriously raining something fierce. It is just coming down pretty heavy.
So much for a beautiful fall break - this one was pretty disappointing for Madison, no doubt. We weren't able to do anything or go anywhere because of all this weather. But we have had fun indoors, at least. Today's highlight was McDonald's, which was strangely a destination that Madison has been looking forward to going to for a few days now, ever since it was first brought up in conversation. This may be due to the happy meals they have there now, ones with toys from "Hotel Transylvania 2." Tonight, we dropped off Mommy off at church, and had a miniature Daddy-daughter date night, although I must confess the menu didn't agree with Daddy's constitution. It's the discovery of allergies that has us on edge this week, experimenting and attempting to discover what causes a reaction, and what is safe to eat. Not to say the meal was an unpleasant experience. In fact, quite the opposite: we sat together and Daddy ordered a happy meal too. This was to get an extra toy. Oh yeah, now we're cooking. Apparently the latest thing is to have happy meal apps accompany the meal. So you get a little plastic toy, and a video game.
Clever McDonald's! And tonight, actually, it worked. Now you might be wondering why Daddy wasn't at the Perry Stone conference. Welp, he had to work. There was still a script to write for Sunday. Which he did in the same church building. And Madison was with Daddy, happily trying out her new games. It should be noted that she did well with these, as she doesn't have long fingernails like Dracula. So Mommy enjoyed the service, while Daddy finished up, and Madison had fun with some games.
Afterwards, we hooked up together, got in the car, and drove home. In the rain. Yes, the rain, rain, rain. Blame Joaquim for that. Also blame Joaquim for the Sardis Road washing away - no joke. On top of that, there were highways closed off tonight due to accidents - it was bad driving weather outside. We're glad to be inside for now, nice and warm and dry, waiting for Joaquim to barrel out of here...
