Here the kids are at the aquarium - Madison is silhouetted above, checking out the big tank. That's the one with whale sharks in it, and those other fish that are bigger than we are. This one room is the payoff for the Georgia Aquarium, the one you sit in for lengthy periods of time just staring straight ahead at the fish gliding by. It's dark, cool, relaxing - and a tempting place to fall asleep.
Oh yeah - the kids and adult workers are pretty worn out already. Madison is a little slower getting up each morning, even though we have two more days to go after this. All the staff and volunteers have tonight to go through as well - another service at KidPak. It's a big, full day - and Madison's third trip to the aquarium in less than a year, if you can believe that. Still she had a lot of fun - here she is below with her group.
Everyone got there safely, except Daddy. His car broke down five lanes over on I-85, just past Jimmy Carter Boulevard. It was stop-and-go traffic, and Daddy's car didn't want to go. A HERO truck came up from behind and pushed this car off to the side of the road, and that was it for the day. Daddy was able to get things started back up again and limped back home, hoping for the best with this car. Thank God it started again.
At least Madison had a good day, and someone even bought her a penguin named Ice as a souvenir. That'll be a nice memory for her, and she won't even remeber the fact that Daddy didn't make it to the aquarium. Well, that is unless she reads this...
