Today was Day 4 already, and all that work for one week is just zooming by. Madison is just loving it, as are all the kids involved. For many, their lives are being changed forever. This sort of camp is what changed Daddy forever, believe it or not - for years and years there was no self-confidence and no friends. Suddenly, my perception of myself changed and things began to turn around somewhat.
Our tribes cartoon continues, and this year it is amazing. Above you can see the Gladiator - that's Madison's tribe this year. There are the Vikings, the Pirates, the Gladiators, the Cowboys, the Ninjas, the Luchadores, and the Superheroes. All of these represent a grade from Kindergarten through sixth grade - and each one has a mascot on the big screen as well. The Gladiator is one of the main characters this time around, along with the Ninja and Pirate, and their job is to bring the light to a lost and dying world. Of course, there are obstacles, and those who do not want it shared. But this year's adventure is simply the best ever. We've done three of these animated cartoons, and Daddy has had the privilege of doing the voice for the Cowboy, who gets to say "daggum" and "tarnation" a lot!
As for the day's events, we did a message of salvation this morning. Hands were raised as this service had a some powerful moments and an important message. The drama team has been the best ever, with lots of fun - and Lucille the Wrench. The games have been loud and messy, and then there was the excursion: Stars and Strikes. Madison was back at it with laser tag, bowling, and these circular bumper cars as well. She had a great afternoon, as did all the other kids.
It's been a fun week, one going by really, really quickly!
