We reached our condo today with little problem, although we did pass by one tremendous accident that was reminiscent of a NASCAR wipe-out. How on earth this one car jumped a rail and flew across five lanes of traffic and into the woods is beyond my thinking.
Good things first: there's a pool that Madison really likes. And shuffleboard, and mini-golf. To enjoy these amenities, however, you have to pay an additional fee. We got such a deal on the place that this wasn't too much of an issue, but it is worth noting if you had to pay more to stay at the place. One other negative would be the time share invitation we got right off the bat. We were welcomed there, and right afterwards were asked which time slot would be best to sign up for a 90-minute time share speech. This was so we could save money on our tickets to Disney Quest, I think roughly ten dollars per ticket. Note to anyone asking me about time shares: I don't waste my time on that. Unles you're about to give me $1,000 dollars.
Seriously, we're all dead tired from a long trip, and the last thing we want to do is feel pressured into signing up for a time-share spill. Daddy was able to deflect that somewhat by explaining truthfully that we're actually going to be busy the next few days - on vacation, no less. That said, we didn't have time for a time share spill.
The final straw for Liki Tiki would be the razor thin walls that actually amplified conversations next door, people screaming in the parking lot, and the amazing block party that was taking place until 1:00 in the morning one night. More on that later, but it was in fact the straw that broke the camel's back. Again, more on that later.
For now, we're content to arrive safely, and be off and going on our vacation. Madison likes the place very much, mainly because there is a big swimming pool that she can't wait to try out. The rental car handled quite well, and the rain that's currently pouring down is supposed to clear out after tonight. It'll be a great vacation, and we're thankful to be away with our minds off of everything else...
Anyway, a word or two about Liki Tiki, the place we're staying. For starters, we're never staying here ever again. You could pay me money and I would still say no. Okay, so that's an exaggeration. You could pay me a $1,000 a night, and I'd probably say yes.
