Wow, what a downpour! It actually got heavier as the day went on, so that when Madison got off the bus, Daddy had to have an umbrella ready for her. Together we tromped home in the pouring rain, and Madison looked very cute in her new raincoat and pink umbrella. Still, we both had pretty wet feet - lots of puddles out there.
Madison made a sign today, and told us to come upstairs immediately: it was time for "Welcome to My Puppet Show Party!"
She hid the sign once she wrote it, even though she asked Daddy how to spell each word correctly, and snuck it upstairs. And then she called out for the big show! Upstairs, all the seats were lined up with stuffed animals in them, each getting ready to enjoy the big performance. A seat was left open for Mommy, but Daddy was immediately called upon to assist backstage. He's the snake puppet. Madison is both Giraffe and Lambchop. The basic plot of the performance was Lambchop's inability to communicate with the snake. How do you say hello in French? How do you say hello in Chinese? We were having fun with the characters, and at the end, the audience gave a standing ovation! The puppeteers came out to take a bow:
After this, it was time for more piano practice - and then after that, it was time for Monster Bowling!
Mommy, Daddy and Madison had several rounds of Monster Bowling, and as easy as this looks, Mommy was the only one to get a strike. We had a lot of fun trying to knock 'em down, but dinner had to be prepared, so we got together for dinner: spaghetti and meatball subs!
Meanwhile, the rain poured down - heavy, heavy, heavy. All day long, it was a huge downpour - there is so much standing water out there, and the lake is clearly going to go up a bit after this storm.
After dinner, we sat down for another movie - it is October 1st, so the theme keeps rolling: "The Curse of the WereRabbit." Wallace and Gromit captured Madison's full attention - she was announcing what was happening throughout the movie, like a play-by-play commentator. She was pretty entertained!
But it was bedtime soon afterward. We all made our way upstairs, because all of us were pretty tired by this point. The weekend really wears you down! Plus, Daddy had to finish his devotional (which he did), and stayed up late the night before.
Before bed, we listened to another chapter of the fairy story, where Prilla is still in search of what her talent is, and still in search of some real friends. In the story, a hurricane is brewing just offshore, seeking out Neverland. Meanwhile, the storm outside poured and poured, and the wind picked up.
We didn't hear much of it tonight after we went to bed - we were pretty wiped out!
