Tough Choices

We have some tough choices to make.  And no, we're not talking about the Presidential election.  No, instead we're talking about breakfast cereal:

Frankenberry or Booberry?  This is the happy dilemma we've been facing this week.  Daddy is in favor of the Booberry, but as you can see here, Madison is more in line with Frankenberry.  Both are excellent choices.  As a long-time connoisseur of breakfast cereals, you can imagine Daddy's delight each October when Count Chocula, Frankenberry and Booberry each become available.  This weekend we were at Wal-mart, looking for something else completely unrelated - when behold!  And endcap was stocked with these October classics!  There were plenty of Frankenberry boxes, but the Booberry was going very fast.  Seriously, when you spot a box of this cereal, you have to nab it as soon as possible.  Last year, Daddy had to go to a special Target store to find Booberry.  It's a yearly quest!

This year, we made off rather easily.  And as you can see in the photo above, Madison was quite pleased with the results.  In fact, she was munching on Frankenberry in the car on the way to school!

Today was piano practice, which Daddy has been blessed enough to attend with Madison.  She's doing well, and one of this week's assignment is to "write your own music."  We have only three notes to choose from, but the creative exercise should be fun there.  Also coming up:  a recital, where she gets to choose a tune to play!  She's already picked "Love Somebody," a song she's been playing for a while now.  We don't know the theme of the recital yet, but we'll know soon!

More performances are upcoming;  Madison has a dance performance at the Mall of Georgia.  We found this out today after ballet practice.  Madison and her friends will be dancing at the Christmas season kick-off, when they light the big Christmas tree in front of the mall.  Or, in back of the mall depending on your perspective.  It's a big welcome for Santa, who will be there as well obviously.  On top of this, we've got field trips upcoming for Madison with the dance company, including a trip to see "Beauty and the Beast" at the Fox in December.  Yes, we just saw that less than two years ago.  But it's with her dance team, along with a few other upcoming performances:  we've been invited to two different Nutcracker performances (one at the Fox), and sometime in April, Mary Poppins is returning!  That was a great show - we're pretty excited about that.

October's calendar is CRAZY.  It is already pretty much full with exciting activities and fun - and there's a lot of it that Madison doesn't know about yet.  And unless you're reading ahead, you don't know about it either!  We've got a lot of work to do as well - we'll be pretty busy this month, but the key is balancing it all out, and making sure we have time for family.  Supposedly, our house is closing this upcoming Friday, so we'll have to be ready for that of course.  And Christmas play meetings are every Thursday - yes, that's the day we're supposed to have off.  This Thursday we'll be at work for a big part of the day, getting ready for a new series.

Work is notorious for eating up so much time, but we're making a lot of plans outside of work.  It's all about balance, and you have to work to keep it all in check!
