To the Letter

This was a nice photo from Creative Lettering class today, where Madison and the others are holding up their names, which are written out... uh... creatively.  Hence the term "creative" lettering.  She really likes this class a lot, and of course a lot of that has to do with her teacher, Mrs. Hubbard.  It's actually a good-sized label she's made there, and Madison brought it home this afternoon after school.  We can put it on her door, or her bed, or her toilet.  After this class, she can creatively label all kinds of items around the house, and not just the ones that belong to her.

We had a great day today, a long one.  It was a birthday to celebrate again, and tomorrow is another one.  Today was Chris, and tomorrow is Lance.  It's like all the staff birthdays are in May, with a few others last week and earlier this week as well.  Then there's a dry spell until October, and the others are all thrown into that month there.

We had KidPak tonight, so Daddy couldn't spend too long at home.  But Madison had a great day at school, another one.  She was practicing her piano, which is something she's getting more and more confident with.  That's great to see - and hear.

She's also working on her Anne Frank project, reading and reading.  And tonight, she was reading in bed after prayers.  She had the last Book Fair today at school - that was her "specials" portion of the day.  Their group got to go to the library, and that's where they had a sale on some books, buy one, get one free.  So she got a Dork Diaries book and a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book.  After prayers tonight, Mommy said don't stay up too late reading.  But Madison read about 40 pages tonight from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book.

Zoo-wee, mama!  Meanwhile, Daddy was helping out with service tonight.  We'll probably be with Madison next year at KidPak, because she sleeps in a little more.  Today she was thinking that, especially when we were talking about Halloween upcoming.  It turns out we might not be doing a Fall Festival this year, and that works out in a way because Wednesday night is actually Halloween, and Daddy loves to go walking around the neighborhood with Madison on his birthday.

The weather is getting warmer, now unseasonably warm.  It was unseasonably cool before, so I suppose it all averages out to a "seasonably temperate" sort of spring, right?  Daddy was indoors for most of the day, where the air conditioning backs up and creates a sort of arctic environment that tests even the very foolhardy.  Daddy always wears layers, even in the dead of summer.  It's the only way we adapt and survive down here in the frozen tundra.

Anyway, we got to bed early tonight.  We've got a busy May going on, starting really soon with recitals and field trips and so forth.  Best thing to do is hold on tight, and make sure everything is labeled.
