Seven More Days!

Madison and her other friends are here after school in their enrichment class, creative lettering.  It's the last one of the year, and the last enrichment class at Chestatee.  Madison has been to every single one.  Her teacher to the right, Mrs. Hubbard, posted this picture on social media with the caption, "Seven More Days!" just below the photo.  And now it's sinking in... are you serious?  Only seven more days to go until summer?  Seven more class days?  Yikes!  How did it get here so fast?

Nevertheless, today was a day of education:  Madison was finally doing her presentation on Anne Frank with today's Living Wax Museum.  It seems to be partly inspired by "Night at the Museum," where the kids, dressed as different figures, would be frozen in place until someone pressed a small button nearby (Madison's button was a Jewish Star on a cardboard spring).  Once pressed, the figure would come to life" and begin talking with the person who pressed the button.  It was such an odd assembly of figures. Some you'd expect, from Amelia Earhart to Theodore Roosevelt.  There was a Donald Trump and  Barack Obama as well.  But also a Taylor Swift.  The fact that Madison actually chose of her own free will to do a presentation on Anne Frank was impressive to us as parents.  She's always wanting to learn more, and that's wonderful to see.

We did not get the yearbook today, as Madison's was damaged in transit to the school.  In fact, there were more than a few yearbooks that got bruised in some way.  New ones are on their journey here right away.  Apparently this sort of thing happens all the time.  Still, we're anxious to see the end product, as we worked pretty hard on it.

Madison is still playing her piano after school, this is because the talent show is coming up.  She'll be playing "Tightrope" again, and she doesn't want it to go away in her mind.  She'll keep up practicing until the talent show, although not at such a furious pace.  Meanwhile, the work towards SX18 continues.  It's a busy season, with so many recitals and school wrapping up.  Like the title of this entry says:  "Seven More Days!"
