Valentine Prep

You can see Madison working away at her Valentine's Day box for school.  In Daddy's day, we had just a paper bag, but Madison is coming in with an elaborate box, thanks to Mommy.  Madison is decorating the sides with glitter glue, and of course the whole thing has to be pink.  Here below is the finished product, complete with conversation hearts.

Yes, we had to have conversation hearts.  We ate about a squillion of these today - they're so addictive! After making our craft, we watched a few Valentine's Day specials, including the Charlie Brown Valentine's Day special.  Why is it that this kid is always facing bad luck, or low self-esteem.  And why does everyone think it's funny?  One of these years, that red-haired girl is going to dance with him or something - or at least pay him a nice compliment.  Until then, there's always Peppermint Patty as a consolation prize, I suppose.

The other special we watched was "Madly Madagascar."  While nowhere near as good as the Christmas special, it was somewhat entertaining, and did give us a special to watch when Valentine's Day rolls around each year.  The "Free Bird" part was probably the highlight, although Madison enjoys the slapstick bits.  Daddy always enjoys the penguins, no matter what they do, really.

It was a school day for Madison, and a day off for Mommy and Daddy, who basically spent the day at the house cleaning up a bit.  That's a Chinese New Year tradition too, isn't it?  We didn't get around to the "sweeping out the bad luck out of the house" part, mainly because it was too cold to leave the door open.  We'll work on sweeping bad luck out a little later this week when the weather is warmer, and not raining.

Forgot to mention the big event after school today:  a trip to the dentist's office.  Madison is doing fine, but needs to brush a little better up near her gums.  Other than that, her outlook is okay.  She sat there in the dentist chair with sunglasses on, looking so cool in pink.  Speaking of which, of course that was the color of the plastic floss thing she picked out.  Hey, "picked out."  That's a little play on words there...

Anyway, she also got a treasure from the treasure chest, her reward for a good visit.  Things seem to be okay for her - of course, some of these teeth might not be around by her next visit!
