This morning was another early morning at church, where we spent the entire morning as is our usual custom. Madison went to KidPak Jr., as Daddy and Mommy were actually able to be with KidPak this morning, and continue our great series, "All Aboard!" We've been filming lots of train-related material lately, actually on one occasion last week going to the caboose at Flowery Branch. Last time we did this series, we were at several train locations, such as the engine in the middle of Gainesville and all over the tracks in Hall County. It was so cold back then. Now, the same exact time of year, it's been unseasonably warm. We're able to go out without jackets on, and the idea of snow or winter is a far off dream. On top of the warm weather, we've had precious little rain of late - Lake Lanier looks so pathetic. This will no doubt figure into next year's summer, unless we get an excessive amount of rain soon. Hopefully we'll have a lot of April showers, but we'll see soon enough.
This morning's services went so well. We so appreciate Ms. Halston, who runs KidPak Jr. for the kindergarteners, as this morning she went with the Spirit and opted not do do a message or skit or anything - instead allowing the musicians to play and continue the worship. Daddy peeked in and saw Madison with on hand on her heart, and one hand in the air as she sang. It was a precious sight, and we're so grateful for leadership down in KidPak Jr. that allows for things like this to happen.
We got home, and the day was nicer outside - and yet we were all so very tired. Everyone at work has been still quite worn out from recent events as well. We had plans to do this or that - but Mommy and Daddy simply didn't have the energy. No matter, we still had a nice afternoon together. First of all, we went to Nana and Ye-Ye's house for a very small time: it was there that we exchanged names for our Christmas gift swap. We sat and talked for a little bit, but it was apparent that we needed to go get some rest soon enough. That's why just after probably less than an hour, we went back home and got into our pajamas!
This is the season for Christmas movies, and that's just what we did: we snuggled together after lunch, all of us on the couch watching "A Muppet Christmas Carol" and then "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." After that, Mommy and Daddy watched "The Santa Clause 2," officially making the rest of the day a Christmas-movie marathon.
While on the couch, we must admit that Mommy and Daddy napped a little. This might explain the slight uptick in energy after Madison went to bed - we got to work on more Christmas-related enterprises, and cleaning up a bit. But the day will be remembered for great services in the morning, followed by Christmas movies together. In other words, it was a very nice day!
