Back on Schedule

Today we went back to ballet after our winter break - thus completing the whole "back on schedule" bit: we've been to school this week, along with music class and now ballet as well. This morning, Madison continued earning her "Mom bucks" by doing piano practice for a while. This featured - gasp! - two hands on the keyboard at the same time. You read that right. Madison is starting the two-hand piano thing, which is a concept that completely blows Daddy's mind. This is one of those things, like rubbing your belly and patting your head at the same time: I'm not sure how to do it. But one of the neat things about piano practice is inevitably learning how to play a little yourself. In fact, long after Madison was done with her practice, you could hear the melodic song, "Mr. Snail," being played by Mommy.

Speaking of which, you should have seen her with that insulation today. Mommy and Daddy got insulation to line some spare storage rooms in the house. They're small rooms, but they're close to the master bedroom. When the temperature dropped so low the other day, the cold was felt in our room as well. It made it difficult to get out of bed in the morning: our bed is so warm and comfy!

Madison thinks so too! Each morning, she sneaks down the hall and climbs into bed with us for an hour or so before we wake up. This morning, she stayed in bed with Mommy until about 9:00! I wish I could snap a picture of the two dreamers, but I would probably wake them up, which I don't quite want to do.

Madison was extra sweet today. Not that there's a day that she isn't sweet, it's just that today she had a lot of hugs to give away. We did a little more Disney Universe today, after she redeemed her Mom bucks. We finally opened the Stitch costume, which in itself launched an odd theme: Hawaii. We were watching some excerpts from a recent Prairie Home Companion, which took place in Hawaii, which in turn inspired us to listen to Pandora's Hawaiian Radio Channel the rest of the evening. Even now we're listening to the pleasant slack guitar coming from the great room. It might as well be the Great Ceremonial Hall or something. Boy, we want to go back to the Polynesian now... forget that, we want to go back to Hawaii!

We might do a little of that on Sunday. It's Elvis' birthday again, which means Daddy might pop in "Blue Hawaii" for everyone to watch. Aloha!
