Zen Zucchini

See? The tomb is still empty! This is Madison tonight on our AD33 set at play practice tonight. She's been a real trooper, coming with us and basically living at the church this whole time. Easter and Disney World are only a few weeks away, so we'll have an opportunity to make it up to her.

Here she is below, getting ready for our pirates series:

Avast! Have at thee! She's in the hallway where all Mommy is getting all the costumes prepared. Mommy has such a long way to go on this one. Always getting role placement at the last minute: one week to go until show time and now we're having better understanding about who is playing what roles. That's just the way it has been.

Meanwhile, Madison has been patient with us. We've still had time to spend with her, using her workbooks and reading books with her. Like this one below:

MADISON'S BOOK CLUB

One of the books that Madison has brought with her to church is an odd illustrated alphabet book called "Fed Up!" This one teaches the alphabet, and fruits and vegetables too. The artwork is rather unique, and at times quite funny on an adult level. That is to say, some of the fruit and vegetables aren't in quite the zen state as you see the zucchini above. In fact, many are in serious trouble of getting squashed (pardon the pun), or eaten. This doesn't sit well with the vegetables and fruit, who are - as the title of the book suggests - "fed up!"

Each letter represents different fruit doing different things, so the obvious alphabet education is there. Plus you have the fun artwork that drives the book along for Madison: she enjoys it. But others around the office have enjoyed it too - mainly because it is, quite frankly, rather bizarre!

Madison met the mail carrier today - it was so funny. She gave this woman a hug, and of course that went over well. Even better: Madison got a free DVD in the mail that Daddy ordered away for a week ago: Handy Manny. Yep, Madison is having her own tool time now that we're starting "Under Construction."

We'll be taking some photos on our new set soon enough - those should be fun. Madison has been really into the construction thing lately. But we still have the "Spring Training" stuff around: the ball gloves and baseball in the car, ready to play catch at a moment's notice.
