Don't get me wrong - we'll miss the old house. But the new one is so much nicer, with so much more room. We're enjoying every minute inside, and can't wait to officially get settled in. Still, you have to look back on the old house and remember what basically was nearly a decade of our lives together. Today, Daddy got just a small opportunity to do just that: after music class, he and Madison went to the "old house" to continue removing some items inside (example: finally moved the life-sized Indiana Jones stand-up!). I had the camera with me, so I figured why not snap a few photos with Madison in nearly all of the rooms? That's just what I did, just so some day she'll be able to look back on the house she first lived in when she came to us. There were so many pictures snapped, I decided to make a little slide show called, appropriately enough,
"Home for Sale."
After spending some time at the house, we also visited with Nana a bit, making a trip over to Chick-Fil-A to get a banana pudding milkshake, along with some real food as well. Ballet practice was next, and after that a return to the old house for some more cleaning up. Mommy finished taxes today (we've got our appointment on Saturday), and she also planted plenty of new flowers at the new house (after the pictures above were taken, of course). But all in all, the house is in good shape, and nearly empty.
We'll miss it, of course. In fact, there'll be a section on this blog here soon that highlights certain memories in certain rooms that will be showcased. Still, there's no doubt in our minds that this is a much nicer place for us - we love it here in our new home.
