Cool Water

Here's an interesting exercise where Madison had to cut out different smaller versions of the images above, and paste them next to their larger counterparts. The challenge was cutting and pasting, which as you can see above, Madison had no problem with whatsoever. Obviously, along the way, she's seeing the different forms of H2O, which in a way is her first chemistry lesson!

Speaking of H2O and chemistry, we should take a moment to mention that everyone should be careful around dihydrogen monoxide, or DHMO. This chemical can be a threat, and yet many people still use it in their households without even knowing it. We're talking serious trouble: DHMO is associated with corrosion of batteries, soil erosion, pesticide production, and nuclear power plants. It's even used by terrorists, and yet you can still find it in community swimming pools.

Just in case you don't get the joke, dihydrogen monoxide is in fact water, which is something you typically don't have to worry about. Another thing we didn't have to worry about: the storms of late were quiet last night. Although the cows were not. I understand that was an unusual thing to say. We used to have - in our old neighborhood - a surplus of dogs barking at night. This neighborhood has been fantastically quiet as of late, a blissful place of peace and calm. And yet, last night the cows apparently came home. Loud MOOS filled the air for a short period of time, as if there were some cattle drive taking place through our subdivision. Apparently there is a cow farm nearby. It was nothing like dogs barking, and nothing to fear in regards to keeping us up at night. It was just unusual to us, who haven't lived near a cow farm in quite some time.

Today was a good day for Madison, who went with Mommy to do some shopping for the AD33 performance. Lots of fabric and costuming to put together, some of which we'll be doing tomorrow. Of course, Madison has classes tomorrow as well - but Daddy will be the chauffeur for those trips. We'll have some fun with Madison tomorrow.

"The shadows sway and seem to say tonight we pray for water, cool water. And way up there He'll hear our prayer and show us where there's water, cool water." - Marty Robbins
