Nuclear Treadmill

Here I am at the hospital, super early.  It's so quiet there before the rush of the day gets going, and I had a pretty lengthy wait actually.  I was there at 6:20, and wasn't called in until around 7:10.  This morning it was time for the nuclear treadmill.  Isn't that such a cool phrase?  It should be a rock band name.  The Nuclear Treadmill.

But I did get in there, and it was fairly quick and routine.  They stabbed the arm and couldn't find a way in there, so my hand it was.  Not cool.  But the rest of the morning worked out well.  I even ran into an old classmate there, and we had a short conversation before I was called to the treadmill.  They hooked me up to these wires and I've always been scared of this treadmill, but given that I'm on a treadmill nearly every day now, this wasn't so bad at all.  I mean, they were done and asked if I could keep going and I told them I could keep going on and on and on, because it was true.  I was huffing and puffing, but I was in no way exhausted to the point I needed to stop.  It was such an encouraging moment.  Later on today, I got the results:  no evidence of any blockage, and heart is pumping just fine.

And I love the decorations on this level too.  Christmas time was fun, and here's Easter, which is pretty cool.

Afterwards I went to this old place.  Can you believe this used to be a hospital here in Gainesville?  I used to go here to visit my grandfather during his many visits to the hospital.  Now it's a complex with different offices, such as the location I visited indoors today:  the urologist.  Being that their phone service is terrible, as in you can't get through to anyone and the calls back are essentially prank calls where the phone rings twice about two hours later, I decided to visit in person.  I now have an appointment tomorrow in Buford.  I still have two kidney stones and presumably a bladder infection.

But this makes life great!  It's a post-St. Patrick's Day tradition!  Mom makes this hash using corned beef from St. Patrick's Day, and mixed with eggs, it's just delicious!  Really nice!

Look at this new logo for Summer Xtreme!  It's this year's theme, one we call "Ultimate."  It's got a super hero theme to it, and should hopefully be fun!  Camille's been working on this one for a bit, and it looks great!

Oh, look what today is!  It's Free Ice Cream Day!  This day is always an awesome day to celebrate, and apparently a lot of other people felt the same way.  The line of cars was out into the main road.  We walked into the Dairy Queen and ran into some other Edge students, and all of us together got our ice cream cones that you can see above.  Yummy!

We brought out ice creams to the martial arts studio, and Maddie got busy helping watch students, guiding them and sparring with some too.  Then for leadership class next.  She's doing good!  We spent a few moments talking with Bart and Chris after that, just chatting about tournaments and life - lost track of time though.  Better get home!

When we were home, we had time to watch about three episodes of this new Pixar series "Win or Lose," which has been pretty good.  We'll be finishing that up as the week goes by.  Maddie didn't really have much in the way of homework.

SEA MONKEY UPDATE:  Can you believe we're on generation four now?  That's right.  A few days ago we lost the Queen Mother, who was essentially the only sea monkey in the tank for a really long time.  It was just one.  Little ones would show up from time to time, but nothing would come of that.  I don't know what was happening - was she eating all the food, or even eating them?  Is there some sort of territorial behavior going on that I didn't see?  Whatever it was, I had one solitary sea monkey in there for months.  She lived a good long life, based on what I've seen - over a year.  And as she was getting weaker, sure enough, I saw a new hope.  Smaller ones swimming about again.  Sure enough, these smaller ones are growing in size.  There's a new generation in there, all from that one individual package put in the tank three Easters ago.  Wow.  My tips for those wanting to keep a tank going this long:  give a lot of oxygen each day, and don't overfeed.  Once a week should do it on the food.  It's great seeing those little guys each day - I'll have to share a picture again soon.

We read tonight, attempting to unravel the mystery, and after that we said our prayers.  Time for some sleep - Mom and I were tired from the early morning.
