We had a fairly long day today. Maddie had her last day before the Thanksgiving break, and in fact I picked her up from school today in the car line, where I got through Genesis 3. The Bible commentary just takes a really long time to get through, but I was content in the car line, reading away. I've been learning quite a bit, in fact.
There was taekwondo tonight, but while that was going on, there was play practice until 10pm and we stayed until at least 10:30 or so, still working out details. Mom is working hard, and I was all over the place tonight doing various roles both onstage and backstage. Maddie got a ride from taekwondo to the practice, and she sat in the main sanctuary and watched us go through things a good bit. It was the last practice before tech week.
This morning we were gathering for another chance to serve food - we've been doing that all week. Wednesday we were serving food for the youth, and Thursday the church served food for many, many people in a massive car line, and today we were serving food for the parents of children in the pre-school. We even had a little moment of entertainment where Tytus - dressed as a turkey - was chased around and amongst the tables by an officer. Kids loved that, and loved posing with the turkey afterwards as they exited.
Today was Life Day, but we didn't have much time for celebration. We did watch the LEGO Star Wars holiday special late, late tonight - only because you have to watch such things on Life Day. I had my Star Wars tie on too. But the day was mostly work - it was productive, and that's good. Looking forward to a few moments this weekend where we take a deep breath and chill!
