Friday night got here and it couldn't have come soon enough. We got Nana back to Manor Lake today, one of our many tasks of another full day, and she's doing much better. She's at her home, although upon getting there she had no idea where she was.
She's weak, but still mobile and still able to walk about. We got some Chick-Fil-A, and the three of us joined Nana for some lunch in her room. It's National Doughnut Day, so we got some doughnuts that you can actually decorate and make yourself. We got icing and put sprinkles on top, and Nana enjoyed a half-doughnut with us too. That was nice. The rest of the day was a lot of work, finishing up our clearance of the prop room and moving the remaining bits of fifteen years worth of items to another room. So much moving, carrying, and so forth. It's been hours and hours of work - and then we got that call that Nana was actually ready to be discharged. Oh - now? Okay, we'd better move it then. Off to Cumming from Gainesville, but first get Maddie, and then get Nana to Dawsonville, and then set things up there and go over to Oakwood for taekwondo and then back home after that... it's been like this the last few days.
While we were busy at church, Maddie was packing a bit, sleeping in of course, and playing Stardew Valley too, enjoying her summer break. But later on, there was taekwondo, and she was enjoying that too, although with a smaller class tonight. She was sparring with combat sticks and without as well, and there were many other exercises too. Mom and I were both there tonight, watching from the observation area, and also sitting and watching a few videos and reviews on different things about Pigeon Forge. Yeah, we're going there soon and that should be fun.
We got home tonight and there were the last two episodes of "American Born Chinese" to watch, and they left us with a cliffhanger. What? Who does that? Anyway, it had a fun story and Maddie enjoyed it. We'll have to see what happens next of course.
We're super tired - there's been a lot of moving the last few days with boxes and so forth. And then all the driving. And I'm super sore. They didn't lower that tooth enough, the new one in the back. I can't eat without sharp jolts of pain on one side, so I have to be careful. Dental work, oy! I've been on ibuprofen quite a bit, and yeah, I have to go back to the dentist next week. First thing Monday morning, for certain.
Tonight's reading continued with "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe," which I remember being my favorite of the "trilogy" of Hitchhiker books. Right now, Zaphod and Marvin are visiting the headquarters to the Hitchhiker's Guide, while Ford, Arthur and Trillian are left wondering what's going on as they float through space. Maddie's wondering what's going on too - we'll keep reading tomorrow night and through the following weeks. I imagine we'll be with this series of books for a bit.
It was a good day, but a full one. Nana is back and seems to be better for the time being. But changes are imminent, and time is precious. We'll visit again tomorrow, certainly.
