This morning we were at a new local coffee shop called the Boarding Pass, and as you can see above, it is themed with the idea of travel. Some areas are as if you're traveling aboard an older jet plane, while some areas resemble that of a cruise ship with portholes. Videos of landscapes from above go slowly by in the background, or in the case of the ship, water shimmers just outside as you sit and enjoy a coffee with friends.
We weren't there to relax as much, although it was a nice morning. We were there to get some work done - we met to get our work done writing the Summer Xtreme skits. Today we wrote about a skit and a half, which was about eleven pages or so. We'll finish up the skits tomorrow, maybe at another coffee shop elsewhere. We find writing in a different location helps stir the imagination somewhat.
When I told Maddie where we were going to write, she wanted to come along to check the place out. And yes, we brought Joey the Porg with us.
It was a nice time, and again, it was a productive time. We got a good bit done. Afterwards, we were back at the church for a while, but for a few hours this morning, we were enjoying our flight with coffee. Or in Maddie's case, ice coffee with her friend Joey.
We got home in time for Taco Tuesday, and then we were out and back to the church again for a meeting about a new support group for mothers trying to keep their families together and new and promising network where the church can help. We got back a little later, but we made time for Ultimate Spider-man, and then went on reading, ready to enjoy the rock band Disaster Area from a safe distance. We said our prayers, and got to sleep quickly after that - it was a good day.
