As mentioned earlier, Madison could not make it to KidPak this morning. So Daddy brought KidPak to her - we did the closest thing to a webinar you could have by Skyping a good portion of the service live and to our house. Daddy held the iPad mini during the message portion - it was a great message with the Ark of the Covenant. While holding the device, I was able to see Madison as she watched. She had her pencil in her hand, taking notes - and she was responding to the things Pastor Lance was asking. She heard the entire thing without an interruption. Also, she got to see our entire drama, the next part of the series we've been doing with "The Quest." She really enjoyed it.
I like the part where she wrote in her notes that inside the Ark, there was 'manner.' This, I guess, would be the Southern way of saying 'manna'!
Anyway, Daddy came home to the family after church, and it was time to rest for a bit. Although we did some cleaning up, and spent time working on the Roman Colosseum. It's a 300-piece puzzle that took longer than most of these puzzles do, because of the repetitious columns and arches. What were they thinking when they built this thing?
Of course, it's a terrible place. Seriously, all the death that took place there. They should level that place before they start going after the rebel flag!
Anyway, it was another rainy day. More dark and heavy clouds with massive downpours. Quite a tremendous show of force involving water. Certainly no swimming today, unless you wanted to try it in the streets. In which case, sure!
We quickly did some harvesting between storms - our crops have not been bumper this year. We may attribute this to too much rain - I don't know. We got some great peppers, and the cucumbers have been big - and yellow. The tomatoes were a bust though, certainly compared to the harvests of years before. We'll have to try something different next year with the fertilizer, or something.
Can you believe our Bible story? It's one we don't pick, we just go one story at a time each night before bed. And this one was exactly the one told in this morning's service. Madison could have told it, because it was so fresh in her mind.
But we've also been reading that time-travel book with Rush Revere and his time-traveling horse, Liberty. Madison is liking this one more than the last, actually. They're going back in time to pre-Revolutionary War days, talking with Benjamin Franklin so far. It's been entertaining, and somewhat educational. For example, we talked about lightning rods tonight - he invented them. Madison learned what a lightning rod is, who invented them, what they do, and what to look for the next time we're out and about.
It was a good day today. A wet one, but a good one!
