Today is Elvis' birthday, and yes, that's the new virtual walk. It has an Elvis theme to it, and I'm kind of excited about this because I've always wanted to catch up on a bunch of Elvis movies that I've never seen before. As I was walking, I was watching this one called "Easy Come, Easy Go."
It's a typical Elvis movie, which is to say it's fun with music and all sorts of sixties vibes. One amazing scene has Elsa Lanchester as a yoga instructor, and Elvis trying to do yoga, and the inevitable song the entire class starts singing together. I'll finish this one up tomorrow as I walk, but this one's a lot of fun.
Mom is feeling better. Still under the weather, but the symptoms are better. She's taking good care of herself, but there's been a lot of rest today. I've been hanging out with her for most of the day, although I've also done quite a bit of driving. Maddie got a ride with Emma to chapel this morning, and I picked up Maddie later on. I also got the other car back from Alpharetta, so we're at two-car strength again. Although they did give us a loaner vehicle, I kept it in the garage mostly.
It was an odd car, although a nice loaner. One weird thing was this "G-Force" measurement. I mean, what's up with that? Why do you think this is necessary in a car? If I'm driving and making a left or right turn a little too fast, this indicator will give this approximate indication. Right now, the dot is in the middle, but we'd watch it move when turning the car. Which brings me to the question of why this is a necessary thing. I could see this as useful I think if you were driving in a race along a track that has a huge amount of curves and you were not wanting your car to tip over. But I think otherwise, this is a fairly odd addition to the car.
Anyway, Maddie enjoyed chapel and Mom is improving. As we said earlier, today is Nate's birthday, so Maddie went over there to help celebrate. She got back later on as I spent my day with Mom. Mom and I watched the next installment in our old-school live musicals on television: "Hairspray." This one had a good cast, and was actually really well done. It got Mom wanting to see the movie version. The music is really good with this one.
Maddie got home later and we wished Nate a happy birthday when we saw him. We'll see him again to celebrate on Sunday with a more formal dinner. We ended today a little later, reading some and saying our prayers after that. Good day today, mainly because Mom is not doing too bad.
