Back

Maddie was back at college today, and back to taekwondo too!  They've been working hard over the holidays to recolor the taekwondo studios, and as you can see, it's a lot of black on the walls, a darker look overall.  But it really blends well with the floor and uniforms of course, and on top of that things are well-lit, so it looks really good.

We were doing a bit of work today at the office while Maddie was at school.  Mom and I were also meeting with our representative about the detox program we're both currently on.  It's been going well, but this month is where the rubber hits the road, so to speak.  We're fasting and we're really focusing on health this month, along with other more spiritual aspects of the fast of course.  That being said, we're doing a lot of those uplifting Christian movies this month, sort of like you do Christmas movies in December, but this time there are plenty of things to watch in January to go with the fast.  Tonight, for example, we went back to watching "Jesus Revolution" again, and it was a great movie.  Love that one.

I'm almost done with my virtual trek to Forbidden City.  Today I wrapped up "The Wind Rises" while walking, and it's a really great movie, just another type of movie altogether.  I love these Studio Ghibli movies quite a bit, the quiet pacing and wonderful imagination.  Meanwhile, I'm inching closer to the end of the virtual trek, getting closer to the Forbidden City.

Tonight we read a bit more.  Adrian Monk is still trying to figure a few things out with our current book, and after reading, we said our prayers and got some sleep.  The weather outside is nice, warm, and completely not what it's supposed to be.  I think we're supposed to expect more unseasonably warm weather here in the following days, followed by a return to chilly weather.  I'm not complaining - the warmer weather is just fine with us!
