Honey, I Shrunk Nerdo

Today I dropped Maddie off at school, and then we got down to Alpharetta to get the car looked at once more for that engine issue.  Turns out it was an issue with the coils, although the new tires we got less than two years ago are already needing to be replaced.  Anyway, Mom and I are officially done with this car and this dealership, pretty much!

Moving on, we were doing some writing today, getting the new script done for Sunday.  After much internal deliberation, the thought occurred to me to have Nerdo as a guest with the bugs, by way of a shrinking machine - an accident similar to the incident in the movie "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids."  That being said, we watched that again tonight, and I forgot just how great of a movie it is.  So much fun!

The new script is pretty much done, and I'm looking forward to a great weekend at KidPak.  This "Honey, I Shrunk Nerdo" idea is something that goes waaaay back at the beginning of KidPak, twenty years ago, something we did with ladybugs and butterflies and so on.  Those were the days - we had a big slide on the stage, a green one that looked like a big leaf the bugs were sliding in on.  We had this hilarious kids' bee costume that our friend Daniel squeezed in, looking ridiculous in - so funny!  We had this "Terminator" theme song playing as the bug exterminator showed up in black leather jacket and pants, black shades, and so on.  It'll be really great this month, revisiting a series so old that we didn't have logos or books for it.  It'll be great to revisit these costumes and characters!

Nearly done with the Forbidden City walk here.  That's been going well, moving right along with all these virtual walks.  I've been watching some similar programming while I walk along, a special on the history of the Forbidden City from National Geographic - super informative! - or an old DVD from Great Wall China Adoption Agency, a half-hour video promoting this new adoption option that so many are taking advantage of in 2004.  Brings back memories!  So many familiar images and locations in China - I was suddenly time traveling back to 2008 when we were last there.

It was a quiet day today, at least here at the house.  We ended the day with our book, the usual mystery, and then it was time for prayers.  Good night!
