Maddie had college this morning, and we're back to a busy schedule. Crazy to think of all the driving I've done today - we got the license plate nailed down for the new vehicle, and then there's the doctor visit I went to - all while Maddie was at school. I have some antibiotics, so hopefully things will die down with this illness. Meanwhile, Mom is getting things ready for Thanksgiving, decorating the house to a level of wow that makes me gape in wonder as I get home. She's doing so well. We're trying to get a connector for our gas line to the oven, a shut-off valve, which requires a bit of HVAC that we're a bit nervous about - so we'll have to get a professional I think. Maddie got home, and later on we dropped her off at Nate's house - she went there, and then off to taekwondo tonight for the longer night. They had a good time, and they're getting ready for December of course, the last leg of her second-degree belt. Not long until she gets that third-degree belt. She got a ride home from Nate's parents, because I was off on a trip here in Blairesville. Mom and I had a teary parting - we don't spend our nights apart outside of usual situations. It's been years. But tonight, I had to go off to a KidPak planning meeting for curriculum. We're doing this up in Blairsville at this Christmas-themed cabin up here, and it's amazing. Shobie and Laurie had all kinds of Thanksgiving food for us all, and the decor here is just amazing. It's also so cold up here! The temperature dropped quite a bit tonight so that the "hanging around the fire" parts were definitely more appreciated! The guys sat around playing cards for a bit - we were playing a card game called "Golf" for a good bit, and then the guys retreated to our own cabin, which was pretty nice too. They had a Christmas tree too!
They have an arcade game down there, and I actually set the record for Dig Dug, which was one of my old-school favorite games from so long ago. It's been nice here tonight - I spoke with Mom with the video screen on my laptop, and was able to give her a tour of this Christmas cabin that we'll be having our meeting at tomorrow. It's amazing. You'll see some pics below, in fact.
Tonight, we said our prayers together on the computer, and I wished Maddie and Mom a goodnight. This bed and room inside this cabin - it's so super warm and comfy on such a cold night in the mountains. We'll have a good night's rest, and talk with Mom and Maddie in the morning, before going off on a big productive day for KidPak. In the meantime, here's some pictures from tonight at the cabin.
