Christmas time is here! We were out this afternoon for a small venture - you can see one destination above, a clothing place that we had a $50 credit for. Maddie picked up some items that she may wear tomorrow. This is next door to a place called "Kid-to-Kid," which we used to frequent some time ago, trading in and buying clothing for Maddie when she was much younger. It's been a long while, so we were wondering if our dormant account still had that credit on it. Sure enough, it did. Even more so, there are adult things in there for me and Mom too. We were looking at sneakers, and I almost got some!
Before that, we were at Texas Roadhouse again, this one in Cumming. It was a nice meal together, the usual steak and in Maddie's case, chicken. The atmosphere is fun, and we like coming here. It helps that we've had these gift cards the last few times, so yeah, it hasn't cost us too much at all.
For dessert, we went to the Hallmark place that's right there. They have a counter and these intensely good chocolates that are so good. We each got different kinds of chocolate and treated ourselves to a delicious treat. While there, we were looking at all the Christmas ornaments and decorations. It's a sweet visit!
So I failed to mention why were in that area at all: it was for a chiropractic visit. Maddie, Mom and I got our adjustments, and Maddie even spent time on the bubble bed. She was all for that! It was good seeing Doc Williams again. He's always ready with a joke or two, including a pilgrim joke today. Thanksgiving is coming up soon! It was a nice visit though, as always.
We went home after all that, and there was some yard work to be done, and then after that, time to get Maddie to taekwondo. She did a successful aerial there, and was hugely excited about that. I was excited about getting an amaryllis bulb. While at the chiropractor, we saw one there and remembered we had to get one started so that it would bloom hopefully by Christmas. That's the thinking - "plant" it by Thanksgiving and it should bloom roughly around Christmas. We'll see, but that's been the general rule for years now.
Anyway, I didn't see them where I got one last year. And then I checked out Walmart, and was super happy to see a big variety of them. I phoned Mom, and she wanted me to get the one that's red with white stripes. I got that and the paper whites at top right. I almost got one of these too!
Yeah, I don't actually need that, but kind of want it. Maybe just to do spectacular hip shots. I don't know. Anyway, I was out on the college race track there, doing my walking on the track today while Maddie was at taekwondo. That was fun, because there were all sorts of other people there walking around too, which was great to see so many other folks keeping in shape.
We got home tonight and the feature this evening was "The Grinch," the animated movie from 2018. It's a great version, and I'm super excited to see them doing an animated "Cat in the Hat" for 2026. Hopefully it'll be a good one too. "The Lorax" has been big lately, even though that's an older movie, and "Horton Hears a Who" was a great movie as well. Dr. Seuss animated movies have been really good.
And that was largely our day. We read from "Hogfather" tonight, and we said our prayers. It's raining outside tonight, sometimes heavily. That's what Mom said. I didn't hear any rain, because I was sleeping very soundly.
