We were back to see "The Gift" today, that wonderful production from the Praise in Motion dance studio, this time with extra dancers on hand to help with the story. It was as always a beautiful presentation, and really the greatest demonstration of praise through dance I've ever seen. We've been to see this production over twenty years now, and this one mural above I remember seeing at the very beginning when it all got started. It was left there after the show was done, so I snuck up to the front to snap a photo of this amazing piece of history.
Nate was with us too today. He was tall enough to see it all - I think the one downer about this venue (which is called "The Venue") is that it is not designed for smaller people at all. But we could see enough to enjoy it all, and were happy to come to the show.
Here we are talking with Daniel, a friend from KidPak who played the part of Joseph in the production. And below you can see another KidPak face, Bonnie, a volunteer with us each Sunday.
Before going to the production today, there was a question of where to eat beforehand. This was easily figured out when Mom suggested Aurelio's again, this little Mexican restaurant on Friendship Road, one we've been to about four times now since Maddie first suggested it a few months ago after the aquarium visit.
The rest of our day was quiet by comparison. Of course Maddie was at Team Edge practice a good bit. I was spending a good deal of time blowing leaves off the front lawn, and Mom is still fixing things up inside, particularly our messy basement. Yesterday I got that amaryllis, and she put that in the really nice glass container we picked up last year. Looks great!
Back to the Discworld at the holiday season, we read "Hogfather" a bit more tonight, now visiting with the Death of Rats: SQUEAK. Third year reading this in a row, but we love it. We said our prayers and got some sleep after that. I'm still a bit under the weather, but we slept well this evening.
