Here we are, the KidPak staff that came up here to the Holly Jolly Christmas Cabin to plan our upcoming year with curriculum, and also reflect back on the past year too of course.
The day started out early for me, as I was up and ready to go before sunrise. I went out to the sunrise deck because this is the Sunrise Adventure Cabin. Why not? Although... it was pretty cold. I did get to see the sun rise, of course.
Joey and Bryce joined me outside, and for the next half hour we got busy getting a fire started at the fire pit. But we got it going! It started warming things up a little, but it was really cold outside, so maybe not that much. Still, it was good.
And so for breakfast, we joined the girls at the Holly Jolly Christmas Cabin. Afterwards, it was a pretty full day. We had a break in between sessions, one where we were relaxing, eating a bit, and enjoying the game room - a few of us were trying out "Fix-it Felix" on the stand-up arcade game, as well as the pinball game they had there. It's a neat place with a theater basement and just a great atmosphere. At the end of the day we had these white pieces of paper taped to windows, each one with the ideas we envisioned for each month in 2026. Things went well - although a bit late. We left there later on, although some of the gang stayed there for a second night.
It was a good day. We got home later, of course, and Nate was at the house with Maddie and Mom. Maddie and Nate had finished up the Star Wars puzzle, and were playing an old version of the game "Battleship" that was themed to the spaceships seen in "The Phantom Menace."
Because it's so close to Life Day and there was all this Star Wars going on, we sat down to watch the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, which of course takes place on Life Day. The Emperor's scenes are so funny in these, one of the best bad guys.
It was time for bed after that. Long day, of course, and sleep came easy for me. We read a bit, said our prayers, and I was asleep very quickly.
