So yeah, the December routine continues. Maddie gets to her LEGO Spider-man advent calendar, finds Jingle Bell, and then gets a chocolate piece from another advent calendar. Then it's time for prayer and heading off to school.
Maddie had testing tonight at taekwondo, moving forward towards that next degree on her belt. No one actually got a new belt or degree tonight, but rather simply did their mid-term testings - and they all did just fine. It's an official night where all the parents show up and watch the students perform, always with the exercise and announcements, followed by sparring with combat sticks and then sparring without, and then time for the board breaking. Maddie broke both her boards quickly, as did all the other students - and then it was time for doing the form. Everyone was great tonight, and it was a good start to the week of testing for all students.
I had some severe blood pressure issues this afternoon, so I was trying not to be the official photographer this time around. Not sure what caused the spike - this morning I was on the treadmill and had a really low blood pressure. Then somewhere this afternoon things just spiked. Mom and I were wrapping and watching Christmas movies, and somewhere in there things jumped up - it might be something I ate.
Things are improved now. We watched a few things tonight, and then of course we read more from the Hogfather, and following that it was time for prayers. The Christmas cards are slowly trickling in, much fewer than last year, a trend that must be really hurting the greeting card company. People just don't send greeting cards anymore. Mom and I bought a bunch, and she's been filling them out gradually so we will send ours off. But thus far, we've only gotten a handful of them. I know it's a lot of work, but there's something about a Christmas card in the mail that just brings an immediate smile.
Okay, time for bed. Warmer weather outside. Wet, but warmer. I think it's going to get cold again soon though.
