Blanket Blobs

We're cold, but so is everyone else - it's freezing cold, but there's no precipitation for us here.  But we've got big blankets that are so comfortable, and they're just great when piled up on each other in this mass that reminds you of "The Blob."  Our blob is currently on the couch, ready to devour the three of us.  Tonight we huddled under that watching "Star Wars Rebels," which is something Madison has been asking about lately.  She wants to watch just one more episode, and then just one more episode.  It's binge watching, although not quite as bad as it could be.  We watch about three episodes and then call it quits.  Tonight, we met Grand Admiral Thrawn on the big screen for the first time.  Madison and Mommy don't know this villain yet, but Daddy of course read the "Heir to the Empire" series some time ago, and couldn't wait to see this character back into the official canon.

The Desantafication Process has been ongoing, with a few of the trees down, although not all of them.  We're busy setting up three books for the new series, one released this weekend and the other two tomorrow - that's 88 pages in books Daddy has been working on over Christmas up until now.  Soon, Daddy will be writing a new series right afterwards, so it's been a lot of go, go, go.

That's why there's a vacation coming up in February, hopefully.  We'll get out of here for a few days, and hopefully head down to the beach.  Until then, Madison has been busy making her own fashion designs, with today's outfits a tribute to girl elves and their fashion.  She's also been busy working on the piano, something she's sad to be missing this Tuesday.  Just this one time, she's going to ballet practice for this upcoming production of "Frozen."  Which is what it is outside, of course.

But we're warm inside under our blobs of blankets, and tonight Madison was under hers as we were reading from the book of John, praying, and finally reading a bit of the Westing Game.  It's a good book with a large cast of interesting characters, and all kinds of floating clues that make you suspect one person or another.  We've figured one thing out early, but that doesn't necessarily identify the culprit, which this early in the book doesn't mean anything.  Regardless, our mystery theme continues long after the KidPak series, and with a few more Nancy Drew books to go.  We'll have a lot of mysteries to read this year, and a lot of fun!
