Edible Spooky House

This afternoon, we continued our now annual tradition of creating a spooky gingerbread house.  This one was a complete mess, just loaded down with way too much icing and sugar.  But we never really eat these things so it's okay, right?  We had the movie "Igor" playing as we applied layer upon layer of purple, orange and black icing, while also attaching pumpkins, ghosts, eyeballs, candy corn and more.  It came out pretty good!

This morning's service was our last of the Master Builders series.  It also turned out pretty good.  This morning was special, because we had the LEGO Mini-figure character on stage again, and upstairs greeting people as they entered. Daddy was inside this large thing, shuffling about and not terribly mobile.  But it does look incredible, and we can be very proud of the fact that yes, Mommy and Daddy did get the job done.

Today, the remnants of Hurricane Nate swept through region.  While it may have done significant damage elsewhere, we simply saw breezes and lots of rain today.  And a beautiful sunset - the color of the skies was an unusual orange and pink, with rapid moving clouds zooming by low overhead.  The storm is moving up the coast, and moving pretty fast.

Mommy had her bath today, but Madison had one too.  It was a good day for catching up in that respect.  Of course, Madison also did her piano homework, going through it pretty fast.   She's been taking tests to determine if she can go to more advanced classes in school, so we'll see how she does with that pretty soon.  This past Friday, she spent hours on testing to determine her placement.  We'll see how she does.

Tonight we watched, "Hocus Locus" before going to bed.  It was a year ago that we got to see the Sanderson Sisters at the Magic Kingdom.  It was a great time.  This evening though, we saw them on television only, along with a couple bowls of popcorn.  Daddy has been by the computer tonight, as we're working on a new handout that is themed with our new series.  Josh is still at the office, and Daddy is here to help and wait on the finished product.  It's going to be a great mystery series!
