Voracious Reader

Madison's reading habits have gone through the roof (which brings to mind an upcoming appointment next week, but I digress).  Mommy got her his series of books called "My Weirder School."  I have NO IDEA what these books are about right now, but the level of excitement Madison has for reading all five of these is intense.  She sits there and is completely absorbed in her books - and these are chapter books, so they are longer.  The difficulty level is up, but her reading skill tree keeps getting bigger as she adds more reading experience points (that's a little video game analogy there that probably only Madison gets).  The point is, these are starting to look more like real books, and less like picture books. As in, I don't think there are any pictures in them.  Still, she reads on.

We had plans to go to a movie tonight, but that might have to wait until President's Day for that.  The reason is the amount of stuff to get done today towards Sunday's services at KidPak.  Daddy even missed the speech therapy class we had with Madison, although she and Mommy certainly made that one.  Daddy will definitely get to the next one, as it is on a Thursday and that's a day off from the office.  Madison enjoys meeting with Courtney, and we're about to really get started on homework with speech and more.

So Daddy got home later, and there wasn't much time for anything like a movie.  We're getting up earlier tomorrow, so we all wanted to get to bed earlier.  BUT, Madison's grades were so outstanding that Daddy couldn't hold back.  She aced her spelling test and got 50 answers right again in less than three minutes with her math drill.  She's doing so well that Daddy gave her a little power disc game - it was for Disney Infinity 2.0, and related to "Brave."  We went back to DunBroch tonight, battling through various levels together as Merida and Maleficent.  Quite a duo!

And then it was time for bed.  Early to bed, early to rise - we have a big day tomorrow!
