Cow Appreciation Day 2014

A smaller herd this year!
Off to Chick-Fil-A again today, as it was Cow Appreciation Day across the land.  The sounds of rejoicing, and mooing, could be heard throughout the nation as regular folks suddenly lost all sense of fashion and put on outfits that resembled cows.  We don't have a mecca, but we do have Chick-Fil-A on Cow Appreciation Day, and it is there that we must return once a year, dressed as a cow.  It is a right of passage indeed!  Above are pictured the pilgrims from this year's journey, along with the sacred cow.  The Chick-Fil-A cow this year seemed to have a bit of a sense of humor.  Take this photo below for example:

Watch your step!

Madison was thrilled to have the cow poo props with us this year, and the Chick-Fil-A cow went along with the gag.  The cow was pointing at Madison's poo pile there, and then pointing to the bathroom afterwards.  Isn't that where something like this is supposed to go?  No, not for us:  it was put on that ledge in the picture there, standing proud for all to see.  Some time ago, Ye-Ye made this outstanding prop for a skit, and we've been using it ever since.  Madison just loved showing it off.

So we went to Chick-Fil-A today, and everyone ate for free.  And it wasn't just the small chicken sandwich either.  Mine was huge!  And Mommy got her grilled chicken nuggets, which I'm about to switch to myself.  These are so good.  She didn't have any problems at all with gluten or the cross-contamination fears that we have as workers prepare our food.  So it was a great visit overall.

We went to work today, all of us, and got a lot done towards the next few Sundays at KidPak.  Madison sat off camera and watched as we did our filming - she was great.  It was a warmer day, but the clouds started to roll in around the time the sun was going down:  storms were on the way.  There were a lot of them, and they were pretty heavy too.  We know, because we were stuck driving through a few, where visibility was very difficult.

But we did make our destinations.  For one, we dropped Madison off with Hannah at Nana and Ye-Ye's house.  Can you believe for dinner, they were all dressing up as cows and going back to Chick-Fil-A?  Yep, that's what they did.  Meanwhile, Mommy, Daddy, David and Jonathan were off to the movies to see the latest in the "Planet of the Apes" flicks, this one called, "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes."  The consensus:  meh.  It was essentially "Pocahontas" or "Avatar" with monkeys and machine guns.  Also, you lose us a bit when you throw in the language.  We've been solid "Apes" fans, even with those later ones, "Battle for the Planet of the Apes" and "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes."  But this last one probably won't be joining the collection on the shelf.

At home afterwards, we turned in early.  A little tired, but it's been a fun day.  Tomorrow is a busy day too, actually - lots going on lately!  This is just the way we like it sometimes, although next week will feature a whole lot of nothing going on, which is just as enjoyable.
