Flowers for Mommy

SATURDAY, MAY 7, 2011

This was one of those days where nothing of significance happened. This was completely acceptable to all parties involved, of course. Mommy and Daddy played Scrabble a bit, and Madison played with Ba-ba and Nana a bit. Dinner was big, but practically every meal cooked at Ba-ba and Nana's house is big.

Madison and Daddy did sneak out of the house to get some presents for Mommy. May 8th is a big day: not only is it Mother's Day, it's also Mommy's birthday!

Because we can write about these things in past tense, I'll go ahead and show you one thing we got for Mommy. These flowers we ordered over the phone, so Mommy would get them when she got to the hotel on Sunday. She was very surprised to get them, and they look great. Flowers seem to be getting more and more pricy, but these were certainly appreciated. These were from Madison, who got to see a picture of the flowers we were sending ahead of time: she approved. She also helped Daddy find presents - we ran around the Wal-Mart in Florida, and then the Bath & Bodyworks, and then the Belk store! Madison was running around like crazy, just having a good time.

We got back to the house to join Mommy, Ba-ba and Nana for more food (anyone getting full yet?). Afterwards, it was time to watch "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader." Not bad. Not entirely like the book, but at the same time I can see why they felt the need to embellish things a bit. Some day Madison will read these books in the Narnia series, and maybe see these movies too. Daddy had to do a project on this particular story - the third book in the series. Maybe someday we'll be helping Madison make hers as well...
