Behold! Bob the Turkey! I was looking around on Roadside America for some interesting things along our path today, and sure enough, here was this life-sized statue of a turkey, dedicated to the memory of Bob the Turkey, a friend of the city of Woodstock.
Maddie and Nate were gracious enough to hop out of the car with me - why not? - and go pose with Bob the Turkey. Now you can say you were with Bob the Turkey, right?
We were on our way back home from a competition in Acworth, a GTMA competition that we were there to see. Maddie spent a good deal of time cheering on her friends and teammates, and eventually joined in on the competition herself. Here are just a few of the pictures I snapped of our adventure there in Acworth.
After competition, Maddie found a local Mexican restaurant in Woodstock that sounded promising, and it was really fantastic. It was called "Habanero's Taqueria," and we really enjoyed our visit. The customer service was over-the-top friendly, and the food was outstanding. It was a little place and we weren't 100% sure of our decision at first, but the moment we opened the door, we were glad to come. In fact, the next time we're in this area, we're stopping here.
The Burrito of the Sea. This is what I ordered. Maddie got something like street tacos, of course. But I got a Burrito Del Mar, because it just sounds like an amazing thing to say. As you might expect, the contents are tilapia and shrimp, among other usual Mexican ingredients. The end result was really delicious.
