Gladiators: Star Wars Night

It was Star Wars Night again at the Gwinnett Gladiators game, and we had great time there.  If you go on Star Wars Night, be sure to get there an hour early, because there are plenty of characters from the 501st that you can pose with, which of course we did.  We were walking around and meeting different characters from various Star Wars movies, including Chopper, a Tusken Raider, Jawas, various Jedi, Luke Skywalker, some Tie Fighter Pilots, an Imperial Engineer, an Ewok, a Rebel Pilot, and a whole lot of Mandolorians!

Star Wars Night is great because the music is all from the Star Wars soundtrack.  A missed power play?  Listen for the Darth Vader "Nooooo!"  In between sessions there are lightsaber battles, Star Wars trivia questions, and all kinds of costumes.  The Gladiators themselves were wearing special jerseys with a jedi tunic print.  It's just a fun night, and Maddie had a great time of course.  She invited her friend Maddie adn the two of them spent the entire time watching all the action on the ice.

It was a pretty close game.  In fact, I've never seen a game go past overtime to the scenario where they're each taking penalty shots to decide the game.  Lots of fighting tonight too, actually.

Ah, the dueling zambonis!  Always a highlight!  It was a fun night though - we had some great seats at dead center, front row in the club level area.  The view is great, especially into the audience seeing all those blue lightsabers.  Here's a few pictures I took from cellphone tonight of the game, some selfies, and some more poses with 501st characters that were there.

Oh, and here's the pictures from Maddie's phone - she and her friend Maddie were having a great time tonight.  They spent the night talking, catching up, and enjoying the atmosphere too.

Someone left their starship in a unauthorized parking spot outside.

It was a fun night!  It came down to a shootout, which we've never seen before, so that was pretty cool.  We got out of there quickly too, afterwards, with no problems at all getting to the car and leaving the lot with extreme favor.  The drive home was a little tense though, as there was a huge dense fog the entire drive.

The rest of our day was nice.  We slept in this morning, and I got the Star Wars ornaments off that one tree, and got them all packed up.  We did a good bit of cleaning up, and a tiny bit of prep for tomorrow's service at KidPak.  Overall, a nice day leading up to a pretty fun night.

Things closed down tonight with prayers - no story because it's late - and a good night's rest.  We've got church in the morning!
