Tonight, Mom and Maddie finished up the next puzzle, and boy, that one went fast! Maddie gets a lot of credit for this one, getting the sky finished up and later on just powering through to finish it all off. We sort of leave a puzzle at the table and from time to time one or two of us at a time do a little bit of work on it at a time. We had a movie on tonight and while it was playing she was putting the last pieces in. Before she got to the last four, she called us over and each of us put one of the final pieces in place for the big finish.
We watched "The Princess Bride" tonight. Maddie wanted to watch that one again, and I just love this movie. I remember seeing it three consecutive weekends in the theater when it came out, this back at Lakeshore Mall in the 80's. Ah, the 80's. I think it was '87 in the fall. We'd drive down from Cleveland, a group of us together and walk the mall there, eat at the food court, play games at the arcade, and across from the arcade was the movie theater, all there together. From what I understand, that mall is going down soon - I should get there before it's too late for one last goodbye. It might already be down. Anyway, those were the days. We enjoyed the movie, and we watched some supplemental material about the movie afterwards, including reunions of the cast and behind-the-scenes stories, particularly the ones about the Miracle Max scene. Such great memories!
So this morning Mom and I were at the hospital, and yet again there was another scanning session for Mom. The tests were a follow up to the hospital visits two months ago. This time it was around the neck in one extensive look, and then another around the kidney area. It took a little bit of time, but it went pretty smoothly. We were fairly confident going in - what else could we be? And sure enough the results came back later on that afternoon: all is well. We are filled with gratitude to the Lord for His goodness. Mom is doing well. She's taking good care of herself currently. She's got to get better for Easter, of course, as there's a big production on the way!
Maddie did have taekwondo for a good bit tonight, and there's talk of a tournament coming up a few hours drive from here in Grovetown. This is a place I have not been, although I've been to Augusta a few times. I have ancestry in cemeteries in the Harlem township, and each year we talk of going to Harlem to visit the Laurel and Hardy Museum there. We might tack on a few little side trips if we head down that way for tournament!
Anyway, good day. We read tonight, and we said our prayers and got tucked in. Cold, cold, cold is coming our way soon. Maybe more snow!
