Mean Girls

This afternoon, we went to go see another high school play, this one a matinee showing of "Mean Girls."

Maddie's friend Chloe had a part in it, and so some of the taekwondo gang came to see the play this afternoon, about two hours after Team Edge practice.  Between her family and the taekwondo classmates, we took up the entire third row!

It was a pretty full day.  I was able to get a good bit done this morning while Maddie was at Team Edge practice.  Maddie and all the others pulled a prank on one of the students there, one that involved everyone suddenly wearing glasses.  It went over really well - it was pretty funny to see his reaction.

In between the practice and the play, Maddie and I went to this Mexican restaurant in Oakwood, and there we ordered some street tacos that were pretty good.  We enjoyed a pretty good day out, all the while Mom was at home sewing, sewing, sewing.  She's been assembling these costumes for the dancers, and she'll be at it nearly non-stop until Easter.  She'll miss tomorrow morning because she'll be sewing, sewing, sewing.

She did take a small break tonight - we were watching "Luck of the Irish" together, which is a fun seasonal movie we've been watching each March.  Another thing we started was a new jigsaw puzzle themed to the book of Exodus.  I'll have to take a picture of that one when it is done!

We read tonight before bed, and we've got to get to sleep earlier because of Daylight Savings Time.  I wrote a letter to our cast today as a reminder:

So yes, this is where we set the clocks forward.  As in Spring Forward.  This means we get up an hour earlier, of course.
But don’t look at it like you have to get up an hour earlier.  Nope!  Consider it an honor to get up earlier.  That’s right!  You, sirs and madams, you get to wake up earlier!  Wow, now there’s a privilege!  You have been chosen tomorrow with this special and sacred responsibility, and what’s that?  You get to rise one whole hour earlier.  Oh my, what a blessing!  You’re so privileged, unlike those other prisoners trapped within their own beds.  They're sleeping in and missing out on all the fun of that one extra hour, but not you, you lucky early riser, you!
I’m going to keep telling myself this when that alarm hits, or maybe even get to bed an hour earlier tonight.

We read a few exciting chapters and now we see the original Kingdom Keepers "suiting up," or at least Philby is back in action.  It won't be long before the whole gang is back as "Children of Light."  We're enjoying going back to read this book again.  But it's later than it feels right now, and we've got to get up earlier tomorrow... so I think that'll be it for now.  Goodnight!
