One Last Tiffany Adventure

Maddie was back at Chestatee Elementary today, and she had a lot of fun with he kids and had many stories to share about the little ones and the usual things that happen in in kindergarten, which of course can be pretty unusual and unpredictable at times.  But she's really liking her time there, even though perhaps there are students that occasionally try and test her limits somewhat.  She's glad to be back there, and it's a good part of her day.  The other news of the day was singing up for other classes in her senior year.  Some she can't sign up for yet, but others she's got lined up, including another AP math course, which is pretty remarkable because she's voluntarily taking that sort of class.  She likes math.

Tonight we were on our way to taekwondo, and it was one of those days you just have to write off, in regards to traffic.  Browns Bridge was closed because of an accident, or at least blocked off or traffic ridden  whatever you want to call it.  It was impassable.  This is a thing that happens from time to time, and so we had to do what hundreds and hundreds of other motorists were doing:  PLAN B.  Which is Dawsonville Highway, which is of course now extra crowded.  This was the circumstance on teh way home, and then on the way out to taekwondo.  It was a mess.  And then there were two firetrucks on another road, just adding some icing to the old traffic cake there.  We got there a little late, but it could have been a lot worse.

Maddie did her leadership class once her assistant role was done, and she had a good time as always.  They're a tight group, laughing, joking and maybe doing a bit of learning too.  I'm kidding.

We got home, and Maddie did have some homework to do.  We watched an episode of Napoleon Dynamite, given that it was the only thing to watch that was short enough before bed, and then it was time to start with "The Shepherd's Crown," the final book of the Discworld.

I read this one some time ago when it first was published - I think that was 2015?  It was such a sad time for us when Terry Pratchett passed away in 2015.  This being his last book, marked an end of a remarkable series of books that take place in the Discworld.  Thankfully we have plenty of these books a world populated with so many incredible characters, including Tiffany Aching of course.  It was late, so it was just a few pages tonight, but here we go with another book.  Maddie is shipping Preston and Tiffany so much right now.  We'll see what happens as the book goes on!

We said our prayers, and tonight was a solid night's rest.  No storms, no high winds.  Just chilly weather, and nice, warm blankets.
